Join Charlie Merton for a 4 day journey into the use of sound and vibrations as a form of medicine for the body and mind.

This 4 day immersion is dedicated to people with all levels of experience, from complete beginners, who are simply fascinated by sound to
yoga teachers and holistic therapists who would like to use the sound of different sacred instruments and their voices during their work.
For beginners or professionals alike, the journey begins with connecting to your own sound for your own practice and healing, and from that
place it can be offered to others.

Module 1: Wednesday, 18th March 10:00 – 17:00

> gong basics, history and different types of gongs
> learning strokes & working with different mallets to create a more colorful sound

Module 2: Wednesday, 25th March 10:00 – 17:00

> working with singing bowls, for sound bath & individual sound therapy
> bowl placement on the body
> basics of healing: touching on other instruments, sansula, rainstick, conch, koshi bells and more

Module 3: Wednesday, 22nd April 10:00 – 17:00

> working with mantra, chanting & connecting to the heart through Kirtan
> learning the basics of the harmonium, droning, basic harmonies
> connecting to your own voice & sound

Module 4: Wednesday, 29th April 10:00 – 17:00

> review and practice > facilitating sound bath, creating a safe container for the sound journey > the psychodynamics of a group setting, holding a safe space for yourself & others

Meet Charlie...

Charlie began teaching in 2011 after a decade of self practice. Initially training and teaching within the tradition of sivananda yoga, since then her style has changed and she teaches a slow creative Hatha and breath-based flow practice with alignment and joint focus.

She has had extensive training in Yin and Restorative yoga under the guidance of Norman Blair, Judi th Lasater, Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark. And has also completed a number of other trainings in Kirtan, teen yoga, children’s yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama and Kundalini yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan).

Charlie is especially interested in Tantra and spends a lot of time studying the philosophy and practices with Christopher Hareesh Wallis.

Charlie is an experienced and qualified crystal and sound therapist and has a varied background teaching adults, children working within mental health and special needs with a number or disciplines.

She trained as a musician and taught instrumentally for many years and also lived in Japan teaching English. She is an HCPC registered Music Therapist with a Masters in Music Psychotherapy, and runs regular gong baths across Londons top studios.

Charlie teaches Yin, Restorative, Hatha and Slow Strong Flow with influences from Dharma Mittra, Yin, Jivamukti, Iyengar yoga and Kundalini yoga in various top yoga studios in London, and facilitates workshops and retreats in the UK and Europe.
