We’re bringing the ocean to Paddington.

This October, we’re hosting the London leg of the Oceanic Global Short Film Festival, in partnership with Oceanic Global and Design Hotels. Now in its sixth year, the festival has grown from a New York screening into a global event reaching audiences in 11 countries. The 2026 edition, Films That Awaken New Depths, was judged by a jury that includes oceanographer Dr Sylvia Earle, filmmaker James Honeyborne, and climate activist Xiye Bastida.

Join us for four winning short films that take you from Dakar to Greenland to Tonga. One follows two young men choosing to build a future around the sea instead of risking the crossing so many others take. Another reimagines a salmon’s journey, narrated by the late Marianne Faithfull. There’s an Arctic freedive beneath the ice, and a Tongan voyager fighting to protect the humpback whales in his island’s waters.

After the films, join filmmakers Karni & Saul and Dawn Moore of Oceanic Global for a panel discussion on why the ocean is relevant to London, followed by audience Q&A.
